The good news is that Candle Week is going online this year!
We hope to bring you some events during which will include song, prayer, healing and hope during Candle Week.
You can still send in your prayers and petitions by sending them in to us online, or by writing them out at home and dropping them in to box in the Church, (if you are going to drop them in, please remember to do this within all the covid guidelines).
Week is an annual event that brings the community of Cherry Orchard together, and connects with people in a fun, interactive way, but is grounded in its mission to teach and inspire trust in God and in each other’s goodness
Candleweek began in 2006 when the parish pastoral council wanted to organise an event that would allow as many people as possible in the parish to enjoy a sacred space, a spiritual time and an opportunity to reflect and pray in a good humoured and inclusive way.
Different themes are planned for each evening during Candle Week, influenced by what is happening in people’s lives and what they relate to, and throughout the week we welcome characters from the Bible who bring to life the message of a welcoming, loving, inclusive God.
The fact that so many people are willing to volunteer their help with all the preparations, and that Cherry Orchard Church was filled to capacity every evening makes it an extraordinary event and shows that hope shines brightly in Cherry Orchard Parish … and now we will be going virtual! As the song goes, greater things have yet to come …
